Open Art Night (P) - Wed 6/11 6:30PM

We're introducing a new sort of meeting at the hackerspace.  We want to start having a weekly meeting that is more artistically focused.  We're not sure what the concept will look like long term, but for now, we're going to call it an Open Art Night, and our very first one will be happening this Wednesday, June 11 at 6:30PM.  We will probably spend a bit of time talking about what we might want to get out of a weekly art meeting, so if you have any artistic interest at all, feel free to show up and help us figure out how to make this idea great.

Printmaking (P) - Tue 6/3 7:00 PM

Guest speaker Jade Hoyer (jadehoyer.com) is a printmaking and book artist who will be coming out to explain and show examples of the four types of printmaking (etching, relief, silkscreen, and lithography) and then give the group the opportunity to engage in silk screen and/or relief printing.

This, like almost all our Tuesday night sessions, is open to the public.  If you know anyone who has been curious to come out to the space please invite them along!

Onion Pi (P) - Tue 5/20 7:00 PM

Fitz (Brian Fitzwater) will be leading us in a discussion and demo of the Onion Pi. This project uses a Raspberry Pi, a USB WiFi adapter, an Ethernet cable, and Tor to create a small, low-power, and portable privacy access point.
This, like almost all our Tuesday night sessions, is open to the public.  If you know anyone who has been curious to come out to the space please invite them along!

Adafruit Group Buy

On occasion we have group buys to take advantage of our collective buying power to get better deals.  Adafruit has a fantastic policy of giving great deals to hackerspaces, and all we have to do is order a minimum of $250 of merchandise.  To that end, I've started a page on our wiki where we are gathering orders for the order.  The plan is to collect orders until the end of the month, and place orders on the first of June.

Agile Project Methodologies (P) - Tue 5/13 7:00 PM

Sam will be leading us in an Agile Project Methodologies introductory session. The various Agile Project Methodologies have come a long way since the Agile Manifesto was released in 2001, and although they have become the de facto standard for high performing companies in the software world, recently we've seen these problem solving guides begin to explode into unexpected areas such as research, the engineering design process, and even household management and the raising of children.

Security and Privacy - Part 2 (P) - Tue 5/6 7:00 PM

Fitz (Brian Fitzwater) will be leading us in a second round of interactive discussion of Security and Privacy topics.  Bring out your favorite tip, tricks, projects, and tools and be prepared to share.
This, like almost all our Tuesday night sessions, is open to the public.  If you know anyone who has been curious to come out to the space please invite them along!
